Wrongful Death

When an individual’s death was caused by the wrongful, careless or negligent actions of another individual or business, some of the victim’s family members and/or other beneficiaries may have a right to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against the negligent party. Wrongful death cases can arise out of many forms of negligent conduct including auto accidents, defective products, premises liability, medical malpractice, and chemical exposure.

Wrongful death victim’s named beneficiaries have the right to bring suit for the damages that they themselves have suffered as a result of the victim’s death. Damages recoverable under a wrongful death case  include loss of love, affection, companionship, mental anguish, loss of services, loss of support from the date of death, loss of future support, loss of consortium, and medical expenses.
